A History of the Human Race Empty
PostSubject: A History of the Human Race   A History of the Human Race EmptySun Aug 26, 2007 4:36 pm

The human race began some 40,000 years ago in their own homeland, which they called Moira. Moira is a continent that is said to be "2 oceans and 1 continent away from the continent of Korth". The landscape there is mostly covered by snowy mountains, with the exception of the capital city Basil, which was made of pure, ever-lasting ice. It is only in the capital city Basil that the human people experience a high standard of living for the further you move outwards from Basil, the cities and villages become slightly poorer mountaintop villages. For the first 5,000 years, all people in Moira were joined by a common religion to their god Basileus (the god which most elves worship as "Torrix"). All were led by the single High Oracle to Basileus. When the two suns fused into one colossal sun, everything changed. The southern regions of Moira became more temperate and thus the standard of living became much higher to live in such warmer climates. And the government would no longer be run by any High Oracle nonsense for no one believed in a deity anymore. Instead, the human people found peace in a new system.

Once the two suns fused, the ground beneath some mountains opened up revealing crystal caverns. It wasn't long before the people discovered that the crystals could be mined and (with the help of a Great Power in the capital city Basil) they could be turned into crystals of intense power. The Spirit of a soul that used a crystal was said to become charged and depending on the type of crystal, one could find themselves performing spells, healing themselves without any need for medical tools, or defending themselves better from aggression.

There were three sisters (Soporta, Chesla, & Lohca) that had advanced further with these crystals than anyone had ever done before. The eldest Soporta, a very elderly ill woman, was said to have healed herself so well that her body could take numerous hits and never reach death. And the second sister Chesla, a fierce warrioress, was said to have charged her reflexes so well that she could never lose a battle. Finally, the youngest sister Lohca had charged herself so well that literally nothing was beyond her. As long as she could extract the blood of a single individual, she could control every action of that individual. The individual, she later found out, did not have to be human either. She could control animals as well. Mostly out of fear, the human people of Moira all voted the three sisters to the roles of Queens over the entire continent of Moira. Over time, the three sisters/Queens of Moira had progressed themselves so far that they could control the movements of the atmosphere and the astronomical forces above, and in doing so, they could control certain weather patterns down below.

By the year 2480 in Korth, the three Queens were ready to conquer more of the world. They knew that beyond the continent of Moira, there was no less than 12 other continents. The Queens had already achieved near-immortality, all that was left now was to expand their horizons. And so, when they contacted their highest ranking military officials of their plans of conquest, the officials known as Brigadiers refused to bring any army overseas to conquer any land for the Queens of Moira. Their refusal, however, placed all their families at risk to being controlled by the Queens of Moira. So, all the Brigadiers (200 in all) united as one force and simply left the continent of Moira travelling south in 5 ships. They sailed across the first ocean in 2 years before reaching their first sight of land. And then it took them 15 years to travel around that continent before hitting another ocean, which took them three years to sail across before they touched shore in Korth. Korth was the first continent they have seen that was inhabited and it was decided that they would live there.

They seized the elven place called "Korth City" rather easily overnight and renamed it "Prolix City" after their fallen leader, Edward Prolix that had died at sea on the journey to Korth. The Brigadier named Sarok, a man notable back in Moira for leading one of the largest monopolies there, is declared the first Chancellor of Prolix City. Quickly, Sarok begins construction on a grand naval port that can be used for international trade. However, the land Sarok picked out for the grand naval port was highly unstable as the dwarven tunnels were right beneath it and as a result, the naval port project failed and the dwarves were completely drowned out of their tunnels never to be heard from again. Some who like to cling to hope believe the dwarves had an escape route, but no such escape route has ever been found.

Three years after the "Naval Port Disaster", a group of raggedy, low-skilled-warrior elves led by two other elves, Vercingetorix Felagund & his son Garrick Felagund, start a riot in Prolix City demanding the expulsion of humans from the city. Sarok orders the execution of each riotting elf, and they are followed through swiftly, successfully, and without question.

Seven years pass, and Sarok's term as Chancellor is up for election to a new person. A man named Yaktu wins the election and the day of his inauguration, Sarok is killed by an unknown assassin. Nonetheless, Yaktu still takes office as Chancellor of Prolix City and on that same day, a shadowy man named Usez arrives in the land proclaiming that he has fled from Moira and wishes to help this new human city. Usez is put right to work as Yaktu's right-hand-man.

Nothing eventful happens for the rest of Yaktu's term except more torchings of elves that riot against Prolix City. And so, ten years later, when Yaktu's term is up,the office of Chancellor is once again up for election. An intellectual, yet strong man named Otyak is elected Chancellor. Upon Otyak's inauguration, Yaktu is killed by an unknown assassin. A little scared about what's going to happen to him when he leaves office, Otyak still follows through and becomes Chancellor of Prolix City. Usez once again is named his right-hand-man.

Five years into Chancellor Otyak's term, the elves of what's left of Hyperborea, drows of Pylos, and half-breeds of Dolf-Hloab declare war upon Prolix City. To better equip Prolix City against the invading forces, Otyak is named King of Prolix City. After a decade of continuously fighting the invading forces, King Aecus of Dolf-Hloab dies causing the half-breed forces to pull out of the war. Days later, the drows and elves surrender as well, although no land is actually gained for Prolix City. By 2590 AC, Otyak is killed by a strange wind that coincidentally kills other notable leaders of the land. In his place, Goshenta rises to the throne, bound to restore glory to Prolix City.
